     Pamela A. Borgess, a partner attorney at Zoll, Kranz and Borgess, is a lifelong resident of the Toledo area.
Ms. Borgess graduated from Bowling Green State University in 1997 with degrees in English and Music. While at Bowling Green State University, Ms. Borgess was a member of the University’s Honor Society and Law Society.

   Thereafter, Ms. Borgess was awarded a full scholarship to the University of Toledo, College of Law, where she graduated with honors in 2000. While in law school, Ms. Borgess participated in Law Review and received multiple awards as the highest ranking student in Trial Practice, Bioethics, Commercial Paper, and Secured Transactions. 

   Ms. Borgess is experienced in all aspects of complex civil litigation including pleadings, written discovery, pretrial motions, hearings, mediations, focus groups, trials, and appeals. She practices primarily in the areas of wrongful death, medical malpractice, professional malpractice, mass tort, personal injury, product liability, ERISA, construction law, business litigation, and contract disputes. 

   Ms. Borgess is admitted to the bar in the State of Ohio, the Federal District Court for the Northern District of Ohio, and the United States Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals. Ms. Borgess is a member of the Toledo Bar Association, the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, the Ohio Association of Trial Lawyers, the Ohio State Bar Association, and the American Bar Association. Ms. Borgess has attained advocate status with the National College of Advocacy.

   Ms. Borgess also serves as secretary and CLE Liaison for the Toledo Bar Association’s Lawyer/Doctor Committee and has helped organize the committee’s yearly continuing legal and medical education seminars for physicians and lawyers. In 2006, Ms. Borgess was one of five appointees of a joint conference committee assigned to revise the Toledo Bar Association’s Statement of Principles Governing Physician-Lawyer Relationships.

   Ms. Borgess has been invited to speak at multiple seminars hosted by the Toledo Bar Association and National Business Institute on a variety of topics, including the attorney-client privilege, the work product doctrine, subpoenas, expert testimony, legal technology, and legal ethics. She has also written and presented materials at legal and medical education conferences on various health care and legal issues, including termination of the physician-patient relationship, Vioxx, sexual misconduct and harassment in the practice of medicine, Ohio’s “Good Samaritan” and related laws, and legal and medical ethics. 

   Ms. Borgess is married and resides in Sylvania, Ohio with her husband, Jason, and children, Ian and Ava. Her non-legal interests include opera, reading, and Italian cooking
