Zoll, Kranz and Borgess has extensive experience in the area of airport noise and has gained national recognition for our success in addressing the complex issues relating to airport noise regulations. We represent municipalities and townships in connection with proposed airport expansion projects, as well as groups of individuals who live within areas significantly impacted by airport noise. Our mission is to provide our clients with the highest standards of representation, whether we are acting as consultants to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, or as litigation counsel for violations of those same regulations. We accomplish this mission through the dedication and excellence of our team members who put our clients' interests first, utilizing a team approach to these issues, and employing technical, political and legal analysis.
Over the years, numerous studies have been performed examining cross-sections of the general population to cross-sections of the population exposed to noise pollution. Each of these studies has shown a detrimental impact to those exposed to constant noise pollution from overhead flights. A 1998 study by Cornell University clearly demonstrated that the incessant noise created by airports has serious ramifications on the health and psychological well being of those residents in proximity. The study also indicated long-term health problems such as higher blood pressure and elevated levels of stress hormones. This study was the first of its kind, examining the same population group before and after the introduction of noise pollution.
